Los Angeles Homeless Shelter for Single Women Closes Its Doors
"This decision tears my heart out. We had to make a very difficult choice. That of turning away women who come to the Mission with children or women who come alone," said Warren Currie, CEO of the Union Rescue Mission on the day it was decided to close the doors on the homeless shelter for single women. To help the Union Rescue Mission, the American Association of Single People announced an $80,000 challenge grant to help reopen the shelter.
