artAngels Links the Bay Area Arts Community

A new San Francisco-based nonprofit organization debuts today at the SomArts Cultural Center. artAngels is an online network designed to link arts organizations throughout the Bay Area to volunteers, enthusiasts, patrons and other arts organizations.

Technology has provided nonprofit organizations with another way to educate the public and mobilize grassroots organizations. Linda M. Czipo, executive director of the New Jersey Center for Non-Profit Organizations, provides concepts that are worth remembering when using technology as a lobbying aid. She also stresses the importance of not totally abandoning low- or no-tech approaches to communicating with policy makers. Combinations of all types of contacts play an important role in developing and sustaining advocacy efforts.
