Hughes Institute to give international biomed grants

Biomedical scientists in Canada and five Latin American countries can compete for a total $16.25 million in grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The grants are worth $50,000 to $90,000 a year for five years, and the institute is managing the competition through its Web site.

NEA

NEA grants $50.2M to groups around the U.S.

The National Endowment for the Arts will give money to 777 national, regional and local arts organizations in the second and final round of fiscal year 2000 grantmaking. These grants primarily went to education, accessibility, heritage/preservation causes and partnership agreements.
