The Student Conservation Association (SCA), the nation’s leading provider of high school and college age volunteers for the conservation of public lands in national parks, forests, and urban communities, seeks a Regional Development Officer for its California/Southwestern regional office.
This position will serve as SCA’s lead development officer in the California/Southwest region to direct all major gift activity in support of SCA’s capital campaign and annual fund. This position will be responsible to identify, cultivate and solicit new and existing individual, foundation and corporate prospects to support SCA’s regional and national programs. Work directly with volunteer leaders and SCA’s Regional VP, national Development Director and staff to establish fundraising strategies in support of SCA’s capital and annual fund campaigns. Represent SCA to diverse constituencies, capital campaign leadership and donors.
Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years successful major gift fundraising experience, ability to forge relationships and work effectively with high level volunteers, donors, regional and national staff; excellent writing and speaking skills.
