Program Officer for Children and Youth

The Robin Hood Foundation
New York, NY

The Robin Hood Foundation finds, funds, and provides technical and management assistance to organizations serving poor New Yorkers. We are looking to fill the following position as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Robin Hood grant recipients to support programs.
  • Craft and monitor contract goals and oversee their implementation.
  • Assist in on-site supervision of special projects including coordination of meetings with other groups to deliver improved program services such as the training of after care counselors for youth exiting the foster care system, or access to legal services for youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
  • Follow-up with grantees on specific issues including mid-year reports, work with Management Assistance, financial requirements and administrative issues.
  • Act as a liaison to evaluators; administer evaluation meetings, oversee collection and submission of client information and data to Philliber Research Associates, and ensure regular flow of documentation to make sure evaluation reports and program outcomes are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in identification of successful agencies that are potential applicants; review preliminary inquiry letters and vet promising organizations.
  • Conduct research in relevant issue areas to explore new approaches to delivering human services.
  • Collect and analyze financial reports, audits, and budgets, and examine special questions about organization program costs and resources.
  • Help prepare reports and presentations to document successes and lessons revealed by Robin Hood's funding strategies.
  • Serve as a central clearinghouse for information and research
  • Assist Managing Director in overseeing progress of all grant recipients in the portfolio, including performing some administrative duties.

Qualifications: MA and 3 to 5 years experience preferred

Salary: Commensurate with experience
