Position: The Quixote Center seeks a permanent, full-time development coordinator for its Quest for Peace program with Nicaragua. For 15 years the Quest has accompanied the rural poor of Nicaragua in their struggle for freedom, justice and a decent share of the earth’s resources. We blend humanitarian aid, development programs and work for economic justice in Nicaragua with political efforts from the United States.
Responsibilities
- To take part in the continuing creation, implementation, analysis and evaluation of the Quest for Peace fundraising program, including:
- Coordinate the telemarketing campaign
- Coordinate the fundraising mailings to the Quest for Peace constituency
- Coordinate general large donor fundraising
- Coordinate grants and handle stock gifts
- Identify and cultivate foundation support
- To take a part in the overall work of the Quest for Peace
- To take part in Quest for Peace weekly planning group
Qualifications
- Strong background in fundraising required
- Persuasive written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administration, communication and organizing skills
- Self-starter, with close attention to details and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good computer skills, desktop publishing skills a plus
- Ability and enjoyment of working with a team
- Strong commitment to work for peace and justice in the world
- Strong enthusiasm for overall program of Quixote Center
- Interest in Nicaragua
- Spanish (oral and written) ability a plus
Minimum Commitment: Two years
Salary/Benefits: $29,000/year plus excellent benefits, including 4 weeks vacation, employer-paid health insurance, retirement plan, dependent allowance, paid sabbatical, and opportunity for professional development.
