Director of Development
Thomas More Center For Law & Justice

The Director of Development is the chief development officer of the Thomas More Center For Law & Justice, responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all of the fundraising and donor programs of the Thomas More Center.
Responsibilities:
- Directs, manages, and coordinates a comprehensive fundraising program for the Thomas More Center, including fundraising mailings, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, major gift/capital campaigns, planned giving, grant writing, research and advancement services and conference planning.
- Represents the Thomas More Center to prospective donors, working closely with the Executive Director, Citizens Advisory Board, and fundraising volunteers.
- Reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for strategic planning in development, drafting and administering budgets, developing and recommending policies and procedures, implementing and evaluating programs, directly cultivating and soliciting gifts, and providing strategic support to the Executive Director in the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts.
- Coordinates visits of potential major donors with the Executive Director.
- Creatively uses state-of-the-art technologies to deliver fundraising and related programs and services that obtain high stakeholder satisfaction level.

- Professional experience, personal integrity, collaborative style, vision and energy to inspire leadership for staff, volunteers, and the broader community.
- Skill and commitment to implement goals for advancing the Thomas More Center.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Roman Catholic doctrine and institutions.
- A team based approach to leadership.
- Sound personal and professional ethics.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders and to build Board and volunteer leadership to follow through with development initiatives.
- Three or more years of progressive and successful fundraising experience, including a significant record and involvement in a major gifts program.
- Demonstrated leadership, management of personnel, budgeting, and strategic thinking and planning skills.
- A record of involvement in professional organizations in the development field and a commitment to continued professional development.
- Knowledge of and a commitment to the use of information technology to support development programs.
- A degree from a recognized institution of higher education.
- A strong personal and intellectual commitment to the mission of the Thomas More Center For Law & Justice.
