PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
04/99 to present: The International Rescue Committee (IRC); New York, NY.
Resource Development Specialist/Volunteer Coordinator:
Duties include: Develop new sources of funding, organize special events/fundraising benefits and PR (raise awareness about the IRC, contact with media). Set up and establish volunteer/internship program. Conduct research identifying donors. Coordinate new and ongoing donor contacts; initiate and develop leads and build key relationship with a network of leaders in corporations who influence the allocation and disbursement of private sector goods. Provide training and oversight of volunteers, interns and contract staff. Attend UN Conferences on refugee issues. Coordinate grant writing, reporting, personal contact and research for corporate and foundation donors and prospects. Manage production of agency newsletter, promotion of special events and agency press coverage.

12/96 -04/99: The International Rescue Committee (IRC); San Francisco, CA.
Caseworker and Interpreter / Translator: Managed resettlement for newly arriving Bosnian refugees, including housing, employment, education, translation and social services. Also, organized refugee processing, family reunification and adjustment of status and other INS matters.

03/96 - 12/97 San Francisco General Hospital, Interpreter Services; San Francisco, CA.
On-Call Interpreter: Arranged referrals, scheduled appointments and provided interpretation for Serbo-Croatian speaking patients.

03/96 - 04/96 KRON Television, San Francisco, CA.
Contract Translator: Translated audio footage from Serbo-Croatian to English for a news report on Bosnian refugees and recorded voice-over translation for broadcast.

01/93 - 12/95 United Nations Protection Forces (UNPROFOR); Tuzla, Bosnia.
Interpreter/Humanitarian Aid Coordinator: Provided interpretation and translation in Serbo-Croatian and English. Managed distribution of humanitarian aid in refugee camps and local hospitals. Provided oral interpretation during negotiations and meetings.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Fully computer literate in all Windows 2000 office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Word Perfect, Group Wise, Internet Communicators and Power Point.

LANGUAGES: Fluent in Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian
