Colorado animal shelter goes online with missing pets

The Pueblo, Colo. Animal Shelter has made it easier for local residents to search for lost furry friends by posting photographs of all the dogs and cats it is holding, the Pueblo Chieftain reports.

Animal control officials say the new Web site will speed up return of lost animals to their owners or to adoptive homes. Daily updates are also good publicity for the shelter's work, and emphasize the need to keep all pets tagged and on leashes or in secure areas.

The Web site was created with the help of a local firm, Computer Images. Shelter employees use a digital camera to photograph each stray picked up on rounds and post the photo with a physical description.
