Consultant gives to educate other entrepreneurs

Faculty and students at UCLA's John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management will be helped -- even if indirectly -- from Peter W. Mullin's 30 years of consulting expertise on executive compensation issues, thanks to his $5 million pledge .

The money will support the faculty and establish the Peter W. Mullin Endowed Fund for Faculty Excellence chair.

Mullin is giving to UCLA because of the management school's strong emphasis on entrepreneurship. He also serves as chairman of the Anderson School's Board of Visitors.

"One thing leads to another," Mullin says. "You give, then you want to get more involved. You get more involved, and you want to give."

In recognition of the gift, and Mullin's service to the school, the Management Commons building will be renamed in his honor.
