The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund will donate more than $4 million to organizations that support children who have lost or been separated from their families, the Associated Press reports.
The money will be distributed to 11 groups to aid youngsters 12 to 18 years old who are growing up without parents.
"These grants reach out to vulnerable young people who, in addition to the usual difficulties of the teenage years, are suffering the traumas of loss and isolation," said Andrew Purkis, the fund's chief executive. "We aim to make a difference to their lives, bringing hope and healing."
The fund's executors say that at least $6.6 million will be distributed annually to causes the princess supported. The fund has amassed $118 million so far.
