Rocky Mountain Nonprofits Receive $4.8 Million in Grants

Organizations serving seniors, youth, and the homeless are among the major recipients of $4.8 million in grants announced this week by the Daniels Fund.

Major recipients include: Access Housing of Adams County; Adaptive Adventures; Alliance for Choice in Education; Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Assn.; Arapahoe House, Inc.; Gateway Battered Women’s Services; Bright Beginnings; Colorado Coalition to End Hunger; Get Smart Schools; Denver Venture School; Envision Schools Colorado; Open World Learning; Senior Hub, Inc.; Special Transit; The Greatest Generations Foundation; Urban Peak; Volunteers of America – Homeless and Aging Services Programs; and many others.

“During uncertain economic times, the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our communities often experience a decrease in giving while facing increasing demands for services,” explained Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “It is important for everyone to continue support for these vital organizations,” she added.

The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The program areas eligible for grants through the Daniels Fund include: Aging, Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, Amateur Sports, Disabilities, Education, Homeless & Disadvantaged and Youth Development.
